Question |
What is ePCI? |
Answer |
ePCI, or External PCI, is an ultra high performance
I/O interface specification. It is based in part
upon a serialized version of the ubiquitous PCI
specification and is becoming very popular as a high
speed interface between computers and data storage
systems. Transfer rates exceeding 400 MB/s can be
achieved with a single ePCI connection. Typically,
ePCI ports are added to a computer by installing an
HBA (Host Bus Adapter). |
